Yup - door frame sticker shows GVWR of 7100, front axle of 3500, and rear axle of 4500, giving 8000.

As long as, when loaded, each axle weight is less than that sticker (and hopefully a fair bit less), I should be good - after all the work on suspension, brakes, etc to bring it up to snuff.

Going by the Marti report, my truck is a bit of a mutt. It says Light Duty towing package, but then mentions some of the heavy duty package:

Front & Rear Heavy Duty Shocks
Heavy Duty Rear Springs
Auxiliary Rear Springs
Oil Pressure Gauge
Ammeter

It doesn't mention the HD emergency flasher, transmission oil cooler, auxiliary oil cooler, HD battery (80amp-hr with the 460), HD alternator (60amp) that are also part of the HD Towing package, so I will have to look and see if I can see them. The original owner could've just ordered the Light Duty package and then the heavy duty suspension bits as single options, I suppose.

Ha!!!! I had a '78 F250, 351M, T-18 4 speed, 4.10 gears, 4WD for 30 years.
I won't post on here some of the loads I pulled with that!!!!! With out issues!!!!
Your '76 will easily pull anything the internet camper cops/weight police will allow you!! Enjoy your old truck!!

That's a tall differential. I wouldn't tow more than 7,000 pounds with that . . . or 5,000 if there are a lot of big hills around.
