Putting Armour All on a belt!? What ever for? Belts require friction to drive the pulleys, especially the water pump pulley which is driven from the backside of the belt. Try replacing the belt with a Gates belt I have had the best luck with them.
Ended up replacing My belt last weekend. The wife and I went north for the weekend, She went to pass a slower truck when the belt let 2 grooves go.We still made it 100 miles to the motel ,but 20 minutes later it snaped when I started it back up.The next morning NAPA got My money. But the tensioner no longer jumps.SAV
My belt wa squeeking horribly for about 4 months last year. I did nothing and it stopped, but now it's doing it again. Out of anyting that is hard to understand, this is definatly the hardest for me.
I solved it this weekend. I put a new tensioner on it...didn't help. So i threw a goodyear gatorback belt on it. The serrated style. Took care of it. I'm kinda mad about it cause i did have a oem ford belt on it...but no more squeaking and it doesn't jump around anymore.
For stevieray, Armor All won't keep the belts from doing their job, as long as the tensioner is working. It just helps it slip a little where the squeaks are at.
I guess next time I have to replace a serp. belt, I'll not get a Ford OEM but until then, I'm sticking with the Armor All.
