Hello all.
I have an old 85 F-150 4x4 with a 5L (302) and fuel injection. The truck is a hobby but I use it to get back and forth to work now here is the prob. I have been tinkering with it to get it running better and I have noticed fuel in my oil. On the dip stick when I check it it's really thinned out and you can smell the gas. The oil was changed only a month or so ago now I have to do it again but what would be the cause of this. I'd like to know so I can fix the prob before it possibly gets out of hand. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
its HARD to flood a fuel-injected engine... but can be done on rare ocassions.
too bad it is fuel-ijected ortherwise i would have said the fuel pump.. the diapram inside the mechanical fuel pump on my '86 exploded so fuel leaked inside into the crankcase as it pumped gas..
Thanks. That sounds very believeable with my truck. She's been a farm truck for most of it's life and very little has been done to it. I've already changed one externally leaking injector and wouldn't be surprised if others were shot too.
