Hey guys its been a while" I recently decided to start building another engine while im playing around with what I got' I want to experemint with the 351c, looking for something a little racy, wanting to make the chevys quiver a bit, I got me a good solid block with refurbished factory crank and rods with arp bolts,' later on over time I want to get hypereutectic flat top pistons 11:1 compression, refurbed 2v or 4v closed chamber heads, edelbrock torquor 2 manifold, 800cfm carb high am msd ignition, 290hr cam k kit specs are 2500-6000 578/578 230/230@.50 duration 110lsa, big tube full length headers 3 primary 3 inch dual exhaust through borla atak mufflets, for trans is a c6 shift kit 3000 stall 4.11 gears it would be replacing my 390 in my swb 68 f100, 3900lbs on scale with me in it,
Looking for upwards of 500hp and tq, wanting to be in low 12s in the quarter, would this be enough to cut it? im still a novice I've only really been into my 390 I built, but I am aware this probably won't be a street friendly combination and it will need race fuel but once I get this over, the truck is only going to be a strip truck, maybe once in a while drive to the store for a pop, thanks for the help in advance
351c was not meant for torque and that's what a truck needs.
Seeing that the 351c has the same bore and stroke as a 351m and a very similar bore and stroke to a 360 (4.00 x 3.5 vs 4.05 x 3.5) there is no reason a 351c couldn't be built for torque and work great in a truck.
