Was talking to a park Ranger yesterday , he said another fire around lake Oraville , modoc did you guys get anything on this?
Yeah, 3k southeast of us at Oroville with evacuations, 6k west of Weaverville with Evacuations and 100+ structures lost, and a lightning complex to the east. I've been watching these for affects on my projects and being on the highway damage assessment team, but haven't been called out yet. Between the CalFfire and USFSweb pages there is a pretty good amount of updates. We keep closing roads in our district because of the fires. . Luckily we haven't had to close I-5 YET.
Check out the Caltrans Quick Map for traffic and incidents.
Well, we dropped a good 10*+ here. The down side is that there is a large thunderstorm that has moved through the area with forecast of ping pong ball sized hail possible. Didn't see it here though.
On the down side, I nailed the top of my knee cap on the tailgate of a trailer and am limping pretty bad from the pain even 8 hours later. I'm hoping that this doesn't affect my match this weekend.
Well, it completely flipped here. A few days ago the temp wouldn't go below 88; even at night.
This morning, we woke up to 56 degree temp, 20 MPH wind, and 100% humidity (yes, the proverbial pea soup). It looks thick enough right now that it might not burn off all day.
I love the temperature, but the lack of sun is a bit depressing. Oh well.
Only 3 days of Fall eh? We usually get two weeks of Fall before Winter arrives.
Pea soup eh? Not here. however, it is nice out side, with no real heat yet.
