The article also pointed out that IOS user are more likely to send their money on IN APP purchases. This drives developers.

Wow - I stand corrected - had no idea - ok so "2nd biggest market out there that it only works on the leading O/S - WTF" - lol - any iPhone users out there, what are you using? Oh and I've been an IOS guy for a bunch of years - I've yet to pay for an app.

I bought one of the cheaper BAFX adapter from Amazon at first but kept getting communication errors. It worked sometimes, but had trouble when I enabled "faster communication" to get the faster refresh rate. I guess it couldn't handle the data transfer demands.
I ended up with the OBDLink MX. Works fine with faster communication. And it's back down to $80 on Amazon and direct from ScanTool.

After trying two of the wifi modules, I switched it out to the mx and bought a chrome book to work with it. Thus far, no issues
