Anything but OEM seams to have a fast and high failure rate
It checked out Electronically IIRC have to reread
Have you tried to clean it out while pushing on plunger with screwdriver
It did not click when 12V was applied, from my reading that would indicate that the valve is bad, also when shop air was applied there was no difference in air noise with power to the IPR and when it was dead, I believe the noise that we could hear was air getting dumped back into the low side because the IPR was only closed 14.7%.
There is no vref going to an IPR so it's position is not checked for quality control for position
14.7 just means it's Electronically ok @ KOEO
Guess I'm just saying you might want to try cleaning out before buying new and if money isn't an issue then by all means get a new one
Screen looked good, it was the first thing I checked when I removed it to rig up the wiring to command it closed.
We're planning on replacing it, I'm not paying for the repairs (company truck).
I didn't think there was confirmation of position for the valve as it only has hot and ground, my assumption was the scan gauge gets the value based on the voltage that the ECM (?) sends to valve.
New IPR (OEM) installed, this one clicked when 12V was delivered to it, air test showed leak under Passenger side valve cover, I listened at the HPOP, Drivers side valve cover (at the PCV location), and oil filter housing and didn't hear any leaks.
Cyl #3 injector was leaking at the oil rail, removed oil rail and the O-ring was absolutely shredded, replacing that injector, all the injector O-rings, dummy plug, and standpipe, as well as the nipples that go into the injectors.
Finally got a few minutes to put up some pictures, the first one is the injector we pulled from Cyl#3, the second is a photo of a small piece that came out of the top of the injector and fell into the cylinder when we removed the injector.
Video is a 0-50 pull on a private rd.
