door latch cleaning

door latch cleaning
so my door latches started acting up, sometimes the door shuts first try, sometimes it takes 10 or more tries. what's good to use to clean these?

mine was coated in crud and multiple coats of paint , so I soaked it in Acetone over night next day cleaned it in my parts cleaner and it was 100% clean . i lubed it up with lithium grease

You don't even have to take the latches out. Just squirt brake cleaner a few times followed by the oil can. Once every 10 years for me.
