99 f250 5.4 SD vss sensor code
Got a 99 f250 5.4 SD. The transmission would slip than shift hard in the gear, the cab dome light and bed light would flicker like crazy, there would be a loud buzzing noise near the fuse box under the steering wheel, the RPMS would bounce up and down with the bass on my subwoofer for the stereo(kinda funny). Check engine light was on.
It pulled a vss sensor code from autozone. I replaced it and it didn't fix it. The check engine light would turn off after about a week. The check engine light would come back on than the same things will happen. Once again it pulls a vehicle sensor code.
For one the passenger top plug on the transmission was water logged, it was soaked in water, it's got a recent rebuilt transmission. Since there was a loud buzzing coming from the fuse box probably means something is grounded, or rain water.
Turns out water was leaking from the windshield down on the fuse box and transmission plug. I did a quick clear silicone repair around the windshield and it hasn't happened since.
Having the windshield replaced shortly.
