2010 V10 spark plug change

I know these are the "easy" ones. My question is what else should I replace at the same time, like wires, COPs, etc. money not really the issue, more my time and highest degree of success reliability. Truck has 56,000 miles and I am planning on a 3,000 mile trip shortly. Or should I just run what i have. I believe the change interval is lower for these new style plugs like 50,000 miles. Truck is running fine. Thanks.

In my opinion, I would replace the spark plugs and COP boot kits only unless you break a connector for the COP or injector. The coil on plug setup (COP) does not use traditional spark plug wires and what it does use are not as susceptible to degradation like traditional spark plug wires used with a distributor system.

Be sure to use compressed air to blow out the spark plug holes and the area around them before removing the spark plugs to avoid having any debris or dust fall into the engine through the open spark plug hole. Even though your engine is relatively low miles and probably looks really clean, there can still be random road debris and dust in that area.

As said above, plugs and boot kits is all I would do unless there was a problem. If, for any reason, you have a coil that fails, order the Denso part as it's the same as the Motorcraft for way cheaper.

How do you like the Cooper STT's in the 35's? How's your MPG's and towing performance with the larger tires?

Horrible, it's a sand dune/camping truck only, hence the 56,000 miles. It tows a 14 foot enclosed , single torsion axle toy trailer that has 16"-31-10.50's thru deep soft sand no problem...up hill....fronts 14 psi, rears 12 psi, trailer 10psi. The V10 rules all in the sand!!! it is 760lbs lighter than the 6.4 smoker and that is all off the front end. Also switched to Toyo open country 18" 325/65R. Super quiet on road, excellent in the sand. The Coopers were very noisy and dug in the sand to much.
