What engine?
How did you diagnose a wrist pin noise without an engine teardown ?

Wrist pin
6.4 power stroke. Mechanic shut down each injector individually. Still could hear the knocking on number 7 when injector was off.

that method is NOT a proven way.. it is good for a two cylinder engine..
remove oil pan... remove cap to number 7.... rotate crankshaft 90 degrees.. grab connecting rod.. you can feel.. not just hear.
if needed do above to all of them. before calling the engine off.
also a sticking valve to guide
. my opinion.
