Soon need to buy a torque converter for the AOD to match my engine and driving style. I know very little on the subject so please offer suggestions as to what worked for you with respect to stall speed. Engine is a 351w (+0.030), Edelbrock top end kit (2092) with about a 9:1 compression ratio. I have an 8.8" axle fitted with 3:73 gears. Driving is purely street cruising.
Looks as its a fairly stout cam but with 373 gears and street driving I wouldn't go to much over stock . The higher the stall the more heat is generated . Do you know the rmp band of the cam-kit ?
I purchased my torque converter from Hughes. They have excellent support. Besides the info you provided, they want to know tire size. If you call them with the specs, they will suggest the proper converter.
It does not appear you are much over stock which would put you in the 1800- 2000 range. However, I would check with the experts to be sure.
