1964 Mercury Econoline (E100)

I am wanting to know, if the Mercury version of the Econoline had a differnent VIN or was the same as the Ford.

As an example, the F-series trucks had F100(Ford) and M100(Mercury).

Is this the same with the E-series Econoline, E100(Ford) and ?100(Mercury)?

The reason I ask, is that I have found a "Mercury E100" van for sale, and want to verify it is really a Mercury from new, not rebadged from previous owner.
Thanks.

Question

Can you post the VIN or photo of the VIN Plate?

Are you in Canada?

From mercurypickup.com website "In the interim, vehicles like the Mercury ME-100 Econoline vans, " that answers my question, I guess, I'm not convinced though.

So, a Mercury Econoline must have the ME-100 in the VIN/Warranty plate?
(new question)

Yes, I'm in Canada, haven't left yet.

I don't know.

Hoping those references would help. Never fooled with Canadian Fords much.

I believe they are all listed as Model E100 regardless of whether it was badged as a Ford or Mercury.

The only reason we have Mercury Econolines is that the Mercury dealers in the small Canadian towns that did not also have a Ford dealer wanted to sell them, and so they had to be badged as Mercurys.

Someone has already added your VIN data to the big database at Econoline.org. On that website the 1964 Canadian data is not very complete.

Econoline Data

This a window van, so it would have been a Falcon Station Bus or Falcon Custom Station Bus. It should have Falcon badges.

That was probably me, I submitted that data a couple of weeks ago.

Cool!
I have a picture that looks like badges are missing.

Could the badging be "Mercury Econoline Falcon Travel Wagon"?
Far fetched idea, but I still have no proof that this is actually a Mercury.

Did the Falcon Travel Wagons have the 'Econoline' badge?

I would think that if the truck has not been identified/verified, that a Canadian Master Parts Catalog of the period should answer all of your questions. Somebody has to have one.

Since it is a Falcon, it would not have any Econoline badges. It would still be a model E100.

It should have a Mercury badge on the front between the headlights and across the rear spanning both rear doors.

The front doors should have Falcon badges. These doors are often replaced with doors from another Econoline/Falcon.

There should be a Falcon badge in the center of the right rear door.

5 = 6 Cylinder engine.

93 = Station Bus.

11 = E100.

90 = 90" Wheelbase.

L = Left Hand Drive.

176606 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly.

A = 3,600-5,600 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating range.

I also decoded this in the 1961/66 F100 and larger truck forum.

I think the pass versions (side glass) were named FALCON (in US - maybe CAN also?). A lot of this CAN assemblies also went to AUS and South Africa.

I wonder where ND got the crossover info? Either a correct MPC, SHOP MANUAL or Dealer Brochure is needed here.
