I put a v clamp on there, it's just a spare one that would go where the x pipe connects. I suspect this is where I'll find my problem but I won't know until I test tonight after work. Either way I was planning to air test it to verify I have no leaks. I have some pressure testing soap from work that I can spray everything down with. It will for sure show any leaks.

Sounds like a plan. FYI, Simple Green is often the cleaner of choice for cleaning the diesel and oil off our engines and parts. Sort of a two-fer, LOL.

GENTLE water to rinse

I use this. It is way better than Simple Green in my opinion. As soon as it touches grease you can see it working. You can get them at the .99 store.

Ok it's leaking where the x pipe meets the turbo, I can't seem to get it to go down far enough to line up. Anyone have a suggestion? There is a new o ring in there already someone think it's the o ring. It sits about an eighth inch higher than the turbo

Line up the pin and give her heck. It's a real bugger. I haven't found an easy way and I've been in there with bars and rubber mallet and a few words I should be using

Hopefully someone will have a tip we can ALL use

You might need to use a pry bar to tip the baby's butt up a tad while you line the pin on the turbo up. That was my solution after installing bellowed uppies.

It can be a real pain in the ***. I used bungee cords to assist and give me a third hand. Keep at it, take breaks often and report back when you got it.

Ok I think there's some confusion, the up pipes and baby's butt are attached appear to be ok. It's leaking where the turbo attaches to the x pipe that goes to the intercooler pipes. I can't get the pipe done quite far enough to allow the grove to go into the turbo grove. I gave up for tonight it's 29 degrees outside and it's suppose to be 46 tomorrow which sounds much better to get frustrated in. Plus I have to change the v clamp at the up pipes any way tomorrow

A dab of soap on the intake plenum boots so they can slide up the ridge of the spider should give you enough clearance.

So put a little soap on the orange boots that connect to the plenum? I won't have n issue with them sealing later?

Nope. They will seal even better once they heat up.

In my earlier thread a lot of good tips were given: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...hat-sound.html

On my passenger side, I had trouble with the top clamp sliding down on the boot, losing its grip on the boot to spider connection.

I ended up putting an extra clamp in the middle to act as a spacer to hold the clamp in place, which solved my leak.

Bear in mind I have recently done a lot of work to seal up leaks- including the billet intakes and new SPX turbo wheel, so everything should be getting more pressure now than before.

A good tip for making the boots more flexible is putting them in hot water for about 10 mins.

I can also tell you that after running a little bit on the road, the boots are quite flexible compared to during cool installation.

Good luck!
