Bad Cab Frame Perch

Finally got a little time to work the project and found a problem... Upon getting the 'cab perches' sand blasted, I noticed the left perch has suffered considerable corrosion around the hole where the mount bushing goes. These brackets came from the factory measuring about 9/32" (a bit thicker than an 1/8"). There are numerous areas that measure around 3/32" (thinner than 1/16"). This is a loss of over 0.100" in material.

I think it should be replaced... Does anyone know a source for these? A search on eBay and several internet vendors that specialize in old Fords and trucks turned up nothing.

I think realistically, this is probably a trip to the junkyard. I imagine any half-ton 4x4 dentside (or bronco) will do... Does anyone have a more expanded parts interchange for this?

Your photobucket link doesn't show. I have a frame I am parting out that I could remove them from. I'm not a home right now so I can't get you pictures. right now.

Yeah Photobucket sucks. I am trying to find a new image hosting service that works with this site right now.

So the forum accepts photo uploads directly now. That's a new trick. I like it.

What year is the truck, what size is the engine? One type does not fit all.

Um, ND he is in need of the cab perch, not the engine one.

Thanks... Was thinking the cab perches are probably the same on the half-ton 4x4's regardless of engine.

This is the so called "cab perch" the OP asked about. Says he needs a left, but didn't specify Regular or Super Cab or front or rear (Rear: F100/250 Super Cab; F250 4WD & F350).

D3TZ-5077-C .. Bracket to Frame Kit-Front - Includes right & left sides / Obsolete

1973/77 F100/250 2WD/4WD & F350.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Thanks for all the replies. It is a regular cab. There are only the front perches on this model. The rear cab mounts go through the cross member. I might just do the frame saver option... A lot less hunting this way.

Hey crazy I know what you mean. That's why I became a paid member here. Pics are pretty easy to attach. Good luck with the truck
