Hey, I'm considering selling my truck. It's a 77 f150 4X4 automatic, regular cab. 351m. It's all stock really no mods. It's not been restored or anything like that. It has dings and dents and some rust in places. Nothing too terrible. It does run and drive but it needs work like they all do. What do these trucks go for? I live in the southeast. I know there is probably a huge range of prices of these trucks, I'm just trying to get an idea

Well, I live in the southwest, and they bring from $800 to $2500 for a fixer upper. 4x4 generally in the $1500-2000 range, sometimes less, I like to give around $1000 for one I can drive home, sometimes they come in less, sometimes more. Good luck. If it is not leaking oil everywhere, clean and sound, starts, runs, drives, shifts, stops, steers and the lights, wipers, turn signals, mirrors, and all are functional, it might bring $2000.

I just bought a 78 f250 snow fighter 4x4 cab and chassis drove it home, needs tires, $1000. Another one sold within the last year "daily driver but ugly" for $450, f150 4x4. Another f150 xlt ac cruise truck, paid $1400 and drove it 200+miles home, everything is sound and good shape, 2wd. there is a 78 f250 for $3000 with a 460, 4 spd, 4x4, needs a lot of work, but a nice truck for frame and sheet metal, asking $3000. Been for sale for a long time. Nice ones are bringing nice price tags, but not just flying off the shelf by any means, if you have $6000-$10000 to spare, thereis usually a nicely redone dent for sale locally. There is a 79 f350 4x4 for $1700 here, been for sale for about 3 years, I drove it. Runs good, drives fine, wiring is terrible and a lot of worn parts, like all mounts, engine, trans, t-case, bushings, tie rods, Just basically a worn out truck.

Doesn't seem like it's hardly worth selling then. It's just been in my family for a long time. Grandfather gave it to me. I used to worship the thing. But now with a wife and 2 kids it just sits a lot and I have zero time to devote to it like I used to. Plus it's hard to spend money on it when I'm spending so much on necessities now. I guess priorities have just changed. It might swing back around one day but who knows.

Stash it !

Just me thinking selfishly.... but, I know where you are in your life right now, we have all been there.... Stash that truck, put it under a carport, fork out the $200 for a nice weather proof cover and let'er sit, for years if necessary, the day will come when finances get better, kids grow up and start to love old trucks ! Then when the time comes, grandpas truck can get pulled out and start tinkering with it.... .....

I agree with not selling it. I was watching a really nice 350 Camper Special on eBay today that was 4500. I was going to call a local couple that was interested in buying mine to get the funds for the eBay truck. Too late, it sold for 4000. My point is these trucks are still available at decent prices unless you want a total frame off restoration. I will never get the money that is in mine with an E4OD swap but I want an F350 CS so I'll take the loss.

Don't sell it!! You will regret it, as stated, buy a cover, start it every few weeks, drive it around the block, the money you get for it will be gone, but the memory of it will stay. I sold a 66 F250 to a young guy, made him promise to never sell it, he bought it for $500. He has since become a slick addict! I told him, even if you have to park it for a while, keep it, nothing greater than an old pile of iron to drive and make you feel good about life. The fact it was handed down from your granpa makes it even better.
