Does anybody know of an issue that causes the stability control light to come on for no apparent reason? I took it to Ford, they said no codes found and they replaced an ABS sensor, less than 5 miles after leaving, sitting in stop and go slow moving traffic it comes on again. I've been taking pictures to show them the randomness of this and they said they would look at it again.

Some mornings it comes on the when I leave and stays on and may be on after I get in after work (before I even move out of the parking spot), some days it's only in the morning and not on after work, some days it's on after work, some days it's not on at all but that has been rare that I don't see it at least once during the day, just seems odd and random so I suspect an issue.

Update: Took it in for an oil change on Wednesday last week, the light was on when I got there so they checked a few things out and said it would take a couple of days to trace everything and figure it out, I had a trip planned so I didn’t leave it but made arrangements to bring it back. Took it in and dropped it off on Monday, called Wednesday and they had not been able to replicate the issue so they said let us have it another day, the tech had been talking to the factory and they needed another day. I called them about 1pm and they said they found a bent pin and put some dielectric grease on several connectors. Here is what the work order says:

STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON OFTEN THEN GOES OFF ROAD TEST VEH TO VERIFY CONCERN. RETRIEVED DCTS C0061 AND C0062, PERFORMED PPT TEST AF, AF1- FOUND CODES C0061 AND C0062, AF2- CHECK TIRES AND WHEELS OK, AF3- NETWORK TEST RCM AND PASSED, AF4- ABS MODULE HAS C0061 C0062, AF5- NO CODES IN RCM, AF6- ABS LIGHT IS ON, AF7- MONITOR PIDS YAW RATE, LAT A CCL, LNGACC, ROLLRATE, AND OUT OF RANGE 1.0, AF8- REMOVED CENTER CONSOLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO RCM C310A AND C310B, TEST VOLTAGE AND NONE FOUND, AF9- DISCONNECT C135, MEASURE RESISTANCE AND FOUND LESS THAN 10K 90HMS, PER PPT REPAIR WIRE, FOUND LOOSE PIN ON C212 PIN 42 CIRCUIT VDB04 WH-BU. CONNECTOR IS UNDER DASH BEHIND PARKING BRAKE, LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE TO ACCESS CONNECTOR, PROPERLY FIX PIN 42 INSTALL PARKING BRAKE AND CONNECTOR TEST OK

Whatever all that means, so far, the light has not come back on

 

Have you had any more issues with the light coming on. I’m having the same problem but they have not found the issue after 6 months of looking.

 

No problems at all, have you shown them what I posted, maybe the Ford tech could decipher it and give them a hint where to look

 

I am going to cal them on Tuesday and let them know your fix. Would be great if that’s what it is. Thanks
