For those of you that have them, how well do they work?
My XLT doesn't have them but I have the interior switches, thinking a future upgrade (if possible) might be in order.
The outboard lights on the mirrors of my Super Duty Platinum FX4 are ok and they do a decent job but I could do without them. The lights are primarily designed for being able to see in dark places for clearance. When I have potential clearance issues I just fold the mirrors in.
Personally I think a better idea for switches would be an automatic switches that comes on when the mirrors are getting close to hitting something.
They are pretty good for lighting up the area around the sides of the truck. I don't use them very often but they do come in handy on occasion. I like them.
If you the the switches you should have them unless you just bought the switch after the fact. They are helpful at short range and in total darkness, they are better then nothing but not as bright as i hopped they would be.
I think they are only usable when in park if i remember right. I plan on using the switch to control some aftermarket lights that i am thinking about using.

If they work the same way as my 16 F150 (I'm sure they do), they work in park, or with the vehicle in gear, up to 5mph, then switch off. I'd imagine they work in reverse also, but never tried it.
FYI, they only work when the key is "on" and the lights are on.
I guess I do have them. COOL! The DW said to try them with the lights on and viola! Will try them tonight and see how bright they are, maybe some aftermarket bulbs for more light.

Thanks guys.
What XLT package did they come with (no package, Value, Premium)?

Awesome...that's like finding a $100 bill in the dryer that you didn't know about!
Pretty sure it is part of the XLT Preferred package (may have the name off, but I did see that)
