Lean Banks 1 and 2 plus fuel Temperature sensor codes.
I have a 2004 f150 5.4 and had the motor replaced a year ago also the manifold replaced a year ago and I need to get my truck to pass safety and emission but won't because the engine light is on. It's reading a Lean Bank 1 and 2 and a fuel temperature sensor code. Please I need some help or direction on what to do. Had ford check for any leaks and none were found. I replaced the feul pressure gauge, gas cap and the MAF sensor. I also checked and added a rubber filling that goes on the air filter tray because it was worn out. Light still on. What Am I missing?
Engine replaced , manifold replaced --exhaust or intake ?
Running lean both banks ,could be vacuum leak or cracked intake or intake or not sealing .
You tube home made smoke detector fed into brake booster hose worked for me .
fuel temperature that's one I haven't dealt with . Don't know where it comes from for sure . How far out of range and is this causing PCM to compensate causing lean codes . Is It saying too hot or cold . May have to look at raw data .
My guess is it comes from the fuel rail pressure sensor on drivers side . If it has gone erratic it could cause the fuel trim problem , It also has a vacuum line on it to compensate for acceleration . It would tend to go lean if it thinks it is real cold .
I can see fuel getting to warm due to routing but too cold is hard to imagine unless you are in upper canada/arctic . Torque pro will show raw data. Price sensor change it? Maybe easy way to rule it out . Meanwhile don't carry dry ice-- LOL.
