Sorry to see that. At least it is confined to one panel and not too hard of a fix.
Here in St Pete we have a lot of Prius driving tree huggers who scowl at trucks like ours. No vandalism yet but they do enjoy blocking me in traffic.
I had one of these jerks at the grocery store yesterday park 3 inches from my drivers side so I couldn't get in. I think he wanted to ding me but I have the running boards that prevented that.
Drivers side back door? Could it have been someone on a bicycle? Either on purpose or accident.
I wanted to think that happened but it's just so unlikely. Door was on the traffic side on a fairly busy street.

It does boil the blood. I don't think any of us would actually do that though unless the encounter escalated quickly. My first thought is to start the camera rolling.

couple other good read expert detailers that have dealt with cover ups and fixes but Larry is one of the best.
You may be able to color it in and make it look like it was never there with some elbow grease and paint pens.
Thanks. I'll check it out.

As far as the OP, my daughter's Jeep got keyed on both sides because her boyfriend put a Nassau Co. PD sticker on her windshield.
Some people just suck and can't stand to see others with nice ****.
And that is what I think happened here. Just a very unhappy person leaving his mark. Maybe he tried the door and was unhappy it was locked? Who knows. Reasonable people are at a real disadvantage when trying to understand unreasonable behavior. It's the criminal's greatest advantage in this world.
This is one of the reasons I'm looking for a good dashcam. My 2015 has enough scars that I've inflicted that I'm not too worried about it, but the new one is going to be a garage queen so I'll be more paranoid about it.
Oh, yeah, and I've been meaning to get around to wiring the dash cam to upfitter #5. Had I gotten around to it, it would have been always on. I could have recorded the guy coming or going at least. Sigh. Note to everyone else, don't put it off like I did.
People these days never surprise me anymore. I hope you can get it repaired quickly and not too expensive. I had a rock ding repaired using the Motorcraft PMPC195007283A Paint Touch Up Product on my passenger side A-pillar. I asked the service department to look at it when I had my fuel tank replaced. You would actually have to know where to look in order to see it, and then only because there was a slight dent. Just a suggestion, I really don't know if there is much difference in repairing aluminum vs steel.

First thing I did was install a dash cam. I even upgraded my wifes Fusion dash cam to a 2 chanel, on to the rear and one to the front.
Hate to see that, I have had it happen in the past. I keep a valve stem tool in my truck if someone intentionally parks to block me in they come out to 4 flats.
