I talked to a guy yesterday who installed fox shocks on his 2003 crew cab diesel. Said they are the best shocks he's ever had! I'm buying a set when I finally install my 4" lift
This is something I'm interested in also, I tow about 30% of the time. Any shocks for the more budget minded, say maybe 1/2 of what the Fox shocks are going for?
Decent and cheaper isn't better, you only get what you pay for
I agree, but some of us cannot afford/justify $400 for a pair of shocks. Just looking for an alternative. Surely Fox shocks are not the only game in town?
The thing you get with Fox is tunability. You can change the valving so that it rides stiffer or softer for your comfort level. You don't have to get sulastic springs or something similar to change the ride.
Fox is pretty much alone in its category. You can go cheaper with the OEM replacements like Billstein etc or you can go MUCH higher end with King shocks. Fox kind of dominates its category for upper end reasonably priced shocks.
