Replacement Shocks

I now own a 2014 F250, 6.7, 4WD with the FX4 package. It's time to replace the shocks. Any suggestions on a top quality shock?

What do you use the vehicle for on a daily basis? This will determine the type of shocks to get.

Yes. Rarely pulls a load but occasionally pulls a fifth wheel.

Fox is what I replaced mine with on my dually and I pull 40% of my miles. I have no regrets with them.

Fox 2.0 IFP Performance (980-24-677/ 980-24-647) on my 2012 F350 SRW FX4 Lariat

Vast improvement over the Monroe I replaced.

I talked to a guy yesterday who installed fox shocks on his 2003 crew cab diesel. Said they are the best shocks he's ever had! I'm buying a set when I finally install my 4" lift

This is something I'm interested in also, I tow about 30% of the time. Any shocks for the more budget minded, say maybe 1/2 of what the Fox shocks are going for?

Decent and cheaper isn't better, you only get what you pay for

I agree, but some of us cannot afford/justify $400 for a pair of shocks. Just looking for an alternative. Surely Fox shocks are not the only game in town?

The thing you get with Fox is tunability. You can change the valving so that it rides stiffer or softer for your comfort level. You don't have to get sulastic springs or something similar to change the ride.

Fox is pretty much alone in its category. You can go cheaper with the OEM replacements like Billstein etc or you can go MUCH higher end with King shocks. Fox kind of dominates its category for upper end reasonably priced shocks.

I paid $123 ea for a set of 4 Fox Shocks. The Bilstein 5100s were going to be $75 ea.
