was wanting some info from the guys with aftermarket wheels. How do you lock you hubs in? Most wheels like fuel, hostile, xd, and so on don't appear to come with the openings to lock them manually do you have to take the center caps off each time to do so. Thanks for the info

My Ultra's came with a removable cap for the hubs on the front.
Not an expert...... I use to wonder the same thing.
Apparently the ESOF can malfunction and the manual lock can be used as a backup. This is discussed in some previous threads the past month or 2.
For the smart guys........ if I'm wrong please do correct me.
You are correct. The ESOF hubs can fail to lock some times, and it appears to increase in frequency the older the trucks gets. Also, manually locking the hubs can be helpful in a situation where you want 4x4 to engage right away (and dont want to wait for the hubs to lock or dont have room to travel to allow the hubs to lock). Manually locking the hubs can also be helpful in soft conditions where you think you might need to 'rock the vehicle' forward and backward to get unstuck, as it ensures they stay locked during the direction change.
I thought that manually locking would also keep both tires turning and not have the limited slip. And also I have had a vacuum hose cut and didn't find out till I was in the mud and manually locking them in was the only way I could have 4wd

Unfortunately, no. The front axle has an open differential from the factory. All the locking hubs do is connect the axle shaft to the wheel hub. The open front diff still sends power to the wheel with the LEAST amount of traction.
