That's a shame, looks like a very nice truck. I searched for nearly a year for my "perfect" 2WD V-10, they are getting so hard to find now.
I've fixed wrecks for over 40 years, and this is very fixable, IMHO. Impact was high and right of the frame horn. If there really is any frame damage it is very minimal. If it was the truck I own, I would be repairing it. But my situation is not yours.
Good luck with your claim.
A little closure for this thread. Ended up walking away with $8500 from the Excursion, which I felt was fair. Make sure you save all of your receipts for every dollar you put into your vehicle... that can help raise the settlement amount. I saved the VIN and will be watching for it to pop up again for sale. Copart is supposed to be getting it so I'll see if it pops up for auction. Eventually, I see it ending up fixed and at a buy here/pay here lot.
We wanted another large SUV, but we were done with domestic offerings. Our Ex was great but so many small things broke on it that really shouldn't have. Thought about an Expedition EL, but the styling is a bit uninspired for us. Obviously nothing European because they make me nervous as the mileage goes up. Pretty much left us at the GX460 because we hated the styling on the Nissan Armada and the Infiniti Qwhatever.
Ended up with a 2012 GX460 Premium. Fully loaded and a bit high on the milage (104k), but presents well and has a great Lexus service history.
I enjoyed being a part of the Excursion community and will miss it. I'll still be around from time to time and I have a few leftovers to throw up on the Free Parts section.
It'll end up at whatever insurance auction service Farmer's uses... I think the agent mentioned Copart. I will buy it, put it back together with the front half of a late model Super Duty and then put it on the road.
I received the first offer of settlement from the insurance company, though I feel it was a bit low, so I'm waiting to hear back again.
