On my last oil test it shows a high level of sodium. Glycol however is negative. Should I be concerned? Where do you think I should start looking? The injector O rings were replaced about 30K ago. At home I have a extra spare oil cooler, I might put that one on when I get home late Oct.
Possible you used the same funnel to funnel coolant into something else and trace elements of coolant washed into your motor when you used said funnel to funnel oil into your truck?
I was sweating but there wasn't room to put my head inbetween the five gallon bucket and oil pan. lol
I guess the source is antifreeze?
I use Sheaffer's oil and they do free oil samples. I use my test stripes every once in awhile and it tests good. I use one of those precharged filters.
Good question, I did add some antifreeze because its gradually going down but I 'think' I just poured it in. I was on the side of the road because my brake light came on and noticed the coolant level a little low. If I had a memory maybe that's a possibility.
I just want to add one more thing. Sodium last test was 11, last several tests it was 20 or below. The recent test was 115 and my coolant level is slowly going down. I have a problem that I want to figure out. If I remember right isn't it the glycol in oil that is hard on bearings? If so then I don't have an emergency on my hands, I hope.
