Same to you Mark!

We are chilling at the house all weekend and firing up the grill every evening after some swimming in the pond and consuming adult beverages.

Happy Independence Day everyone!

Our family in ID had to cancel their plans for the weekend because my BIL's family was exposed to Chirus at a coffee shop and are now on quarantine in their home. This is the same family that was supposed to be here in GA right now, but because of Chirus and ATL going nuts, they had to cancel.

The Marine from Parris Island arrived a bit ago and we have already poured adult beverages and are looking forward to our own lock down out here in the country. She is very grateful to be away from the hustle and bustle of the Marine training base. Both Kate and I know how hectic life can be on a military installation and we tell her she is always welcome here for a little R&R.

Have fun everyone and stay safe when you are celebrating!

Thanks fellas, It's just the way things go. We did cancel the family get together we had planned today but the wife and I will still be doing ribs and I now have a whole plate of deviled eggs to myself, love those things

Happy 4th to you all

If I had a place like that I'd never leave it.

Wish I had a pond. The creek isn't deep enough for swimming or fishing. Otherwise I have a nice little slice of paradise myself. SO glad I left StL when I did!
Enjoying my birthday so far. Talking with my good friend I haven't seen in over a year, chillin on the deck. Got some brats on the grill (meaning bratwurst, not kids). Nice sunny day. Perfect.

I built a frame for Mom’s new cabin sign yesterday. This will be mounted in the back of the ‘53 F100 parked at the road.

Today, I’m cleaning the engine/chassis in the truck that came to the tech day and left a trail of oil on my driveway... Still not 100% sure where leak is, but the list of what the truck needs is already long...

Up-pipes are leaking BADLY. The rear exhaust manifold bolt is missing on one side and that port has evidence of a nasty leak.

‘Tin’ nut missing from IPR.

I suspect the EBPV is a big oil leak contributor.

Air filter box is fubar. Haven’t inspected turbo yet...

Soooooooo dirty. 2hrs with p-washer so far. Let degreaser soak while in eating lunch then I’ll do a final rinse.

Oil in ICP sensor, front brakes are almost metal to metal, rear slide pins are stuck, sway bar end links are toast, green coolant looks gross (neglected), Hydra with no gauges..... and I still haven’t finished checking it out.

Poor truck!!!! It needs some love in a bad way!!

@SkySkiJason , I meant to mention to you that the 1953 at the end of the drive looked great when we were there recently. I think that sign will be a good addition and Kate agrees.

Regarding the the truck you are working on, is that the same guy that I was glad showed up for a bit because he made me feel better about my oil leak his was so bad.

Yep, that guy. Told me they top it off with oil every time they drive it. Looks like GALLONS of oil all over the engine and chassis. Made a MESS on the side of my driveway while p-washing.....

did you pull a permit for that oil spill? Im guessing everything underneath is well preserved, and man what a testament to the 7.3's *****.

Very well preserved. It’s a ZERO rust truck. I bet the up-pipe bolts unscrew.

Nobody likes a braggart! Mine might have scale peeling off of it but it doesn't leave a trail of anything so you could follow me home. And if you think you're going to steal any parts off of it you'd better bring a torch.

Yeah, we are spoiled here. Most trucks have about the same amount of rust they left the factory with.

This frame looks like brand new steel... I’ll take a pic. Engine cleaned up nice too!!

Got rust??

Before

After. This does not represent the wheelbarrow full of oily mud that came off this thing. Probably a shovel full of crap from the valley alone...

You did a good job. Much nicer to work on a clear motor!
