Hi Guys,
Looking to order a 2018 6.2 SC longbed 4x4 to carry my cab over camper.
Will be ordering the camper option which up the from springs 1 from standard,
I will be carrying my motorcycle on the front…..
My KTM is 280 pounds so do you you think I would require the snow plow option ?
Thanks
If you order it with Snow plow package, the sheet of paper in the glove box will state that the vehicle is not recommended for carrying a slide-in truck camper.
You may want to consider ordering a crew cab ($1260 over a an SC). It will give a longer wheelbase and an extended can for potentially less windshield overhang from the camper. While your at it, a dually is only another $1485 option and will improve stability and give maximum flexibility in choosing a camper.
You'll have to check spring rates between the camper package and snow plow package.

F250 or F350?
Note that the F250's maximum GVWR is 10K lbs., regardless of configuration or options, and the maximum payload for a 6.2 4x4 SCLB in base (XL?) trim is 3560 lbs. (before deductions for options). The camper package includes an aux leaf in each rear spring pack (four leaves total).
A similar F350 with 18" AT tires has a GVWR of 11,500 lbs and a maximum payload spec of 4710 lbs. (before deductions for options). This configuration is fitted with a five leaf rear spring pack, with or without the camper package. The extra 1,150 lbs. of "official" payload may come in handy...
The truck's front overhang is 38.2" and the SCLB wheelbase is 164.2". Assuming the bike's center of mass is another 16" out in front, then carrying the 280 lb. bike (including the carrier?) on the front will present an ~+372 lb. load on the front suspension (and an ~-92 lb. load on the rear suspension).
There's another option to consider: Option Code 47B, Snowplow/Camper Package.
I should have mentioned I’m planning on a F-350 to get the (11,500) and not a DRW.
I live in So Cal and use my truck for work so driving a
DRW would not be a happy thing in my crowded beach town not to mention parking.

You might want to consider the 11,400 lb. GVWR option (option code 68L). It's a paper downgrade that may help save some (annual?) registration $$ in SoCal.
Does 100 lbs. really make a difference? I downgraded my CA order to 11,400 because I kept reading conflicting DMV information. Some rules stated >11,500 and others stated <11,500 but I saw nothing about =11,500. I could not get a straight answer from the dealer so I just played it safe and went with the 11,400 downgrade.
My take is the pickup has to be <8K lbs. "unladen" and <11.5K GVWR. Ford's base curb weight spec for an F350 6.2 4x4 SCLB w/ 18" wheels and AT tires is 6,714 lbs.

HTH,
Jim / crewzer
Exactly Jim. <11.5K GVWR is not <= to 11.5K. That's why I downgraded.
