CPP 400 Power steering conversion kit

I decided to go with the CPP 400 P/S kit for my 56. When installing it I rotated the steering shaft to make sure it was centered. Most of the rotation was very smooth but there is an area of a "rough spot" where the steering shaft would meet resistance and was a little harder to turn. It lasted for about one full turn of the shaft and would ease up going back to normal ease of rotation. I see some not so good reviews on the kit and wondering if anyone has any experience with this and or advice.
I am calling CPP today and will update.
Thanks in advance.

My 49 has a CPP 400 kit and does the same thing..... has a little resistance in one spot when turning. So far I've had no problems with it and I like the way the truck turns.

The resistance I found was that the column was not directly lined up with the rag joint. I know that the rag joint should take care of all that but now mine works good and centers. Does your return back to center after a turn? Don't know if it helped or not but I had to burp mine and get all the air out. Good luck. I like the unit.

My Toyota box did that when I had the old low pressure Easton pump. When I moved to the high pressure pump in the kit from Unisteer that went away.

Thanks guys! I don't have it hooked up to the column or a PS pump yet. Looks just like the picture. I am turning it by hand and it hits a tight spot which concerns me. I talked to CPP they told me to return it to them to check it out. dang......

that's what mine did too while turning it by hand but don't notice it after everything installed and on the road.
