Will the 1.5" leveling spacers have any handling effect on new KR with adaptive steering? I'm wanting to put some 295/65/20 Toyos AT tires on but not so much to give up nice ride and drive.
I installed a spacer in the rear-end that lowered the back 1.5 inches. My truck has adaptive steering and this mod works very well.
Where did you get this spacer? Does it replace the existing spacers between the springs and axle? Are shorter U-bolts needed?
How level is your lowered truck with the weight of a trailer or cargo at the rear?
I'd like to level my truck, but without raising the front to do so. Also don't want to do anything to conflict with it's ability to tow a trailer with a 900 lb tongue weight along with generator and other camping "stuff" in the bed.
That's good to know. I rather not change Front end. I'm afraid it will have negative effect on steering. It's crazy I know to buy new truck and immediately change tires just for looks. But they sure look sweet with some meat.

I was able to sell my Goodyear tire's that came on my truck. If I had waited a few thousand more miles i may not have been able to make any money off them. This made me feel a lot better about my decision.
I run the Toyo's and 1 1/2" spacers. with the new tires I towed my travel trailer for a 2 week camping trip. I found it wandered a little on the highway which I think might just be the new tires breaking in. It has some rake still unloaded and a 1/2" of rake when loaded and my travel or enclosed car trailer installed which is exactly what i wanted. Here is a pic I took during the trip during a day trip...yes I take pics of my truck daily. lol

I ordered online. The U bolts do not need to be replaced if you don't mind a few extra threads hanging down. Yes they do replace the stock spring spacers.
So far all I've pulled is a 2200 pound bass boat and trailer with very little change it level. I doubt 900 lbs would affect the level much. My truck is still about 1.25 inches from perfectly level. Just low enough that I can use the tailgate steps.
I don't like messing with the front-end alignment.
If a guy were to just throw on, say the rough country spacers that are listed as 1.5-2" Is the track bar adjustment, and new cam adjusters needed? Are you sacrificing handling going this route? I know there are better options out there, just wondering.
Well I just installed Rough Country spacers in front, then alignment and put on some Toyo 35/12.50 tires.I can tell the ride quality fell off just a tad. Just a little road noise! Only real problem that I will address is at Hwy speed I can see and feel steering wheel shaking ever so slightly back and forth. Hopefully someone here will know what will fix that! I really like the new look and stance.
Its likely that you will need to add in more caster to your alignment. Plenty of threads regarding this.
These trucks are already very tall and the option of lowering the rear 1.5 inches with the rear block from a dually seems the least invasive way to level the stance while keeping factory ride and steering response.
This is most definitely the route that I will go after my truck is delivered in a week.

Sounds like they just need to spend more time balancing your tires. My truck did the same exact thing when new, it took the dealership 3 try at balancing them to get the back and forth shake out of the steering wheel

I lowered the rear using 1.5" 2016 spacers and the stock 2017 u-bolts. My 5th wheel puts 1250lbs on the bed and it sits exactly level loaded.
