looking for a good compromise

I recently had an exhaust system put on my 5.4 SD 4x4. The local muffler shop guy said it is the same thing as the Gibson cat back system, but made by Walker. The "muffler" is a bullet type straight through about 18" long. 3" in 3" out. After a couple of days it's just too loud and seems to be getting louder. I'll be looking for a replacement as soon as I get some ideas for one. I want the increased flow for effeciency, but not to the point of being too loud. What's a good one? Thanks, God Bless, huckster

I think your best flowing/sounding is a muffler from DynoMax. Tell the your muffler guy that you want to look at a Superturbo part number 17673. It is also made by Walker, so he should be able to get you one. This muffler has baffles in it so you won't hear much to you put your foot down hard on the gas pedal.

if you want the best flowing, go with magniflow. it's the straight through type. get a long one to reduse sound and won't restrict any flow and won't get louder with time, they have a lifetime warranty so return them if they do. they sound great too.
