Is anyone else having frequent CELs for regens? I have gotten probably 5 of these in the last two months now. The dealership (Performance Ford, Bountiful Utah) is INEPT and has only been able to update PCM once a couple months ago, and reset parameters a couple times. ONLY A BAND-AID! After that, the truck will run fine for a couple weeks, than start to regen really often and drive rough during regen. CEL on again now, and regening once, or twice daily with averaging 75 miles/day.
A Ford Tech told me that Ford engineers are aware of this problem on the higher mileage 2017s, but haven't come up with a fix yet. FYI, I have just over 18k miles on the truck since purchased in Nov. 2016
Interested to follow this as well... I'm planning to use Enerburn regularly to hopefully cut down on the dp matter. I'll eventually post my regen frequency findings once I get my truck & put some miles on it.
Nice! We at FORD realize we have a problem, but we haven't figured out how to fix it. Great. My truck is regening ever day...if it regens at all. I've been back to the dealer 5 times to turn off CEL and reset regen parameters. Well, I just left the dealer so the truck should run well for a couple weeks. I love my truck. But I hate this emissions crap....and I hate that Ford can't figure it out.
I just purchase a brand new 2017 F250 3 weeks ago. The first 3 days I had it 400 miles on it check engine light came on. Took it in and they reset it (p2459), another 3 days Later check engine light came on again (1049 miles). Took it in and they keep it for a week. They did a self test, performed tsb 17-0054, manual regeneration, parameter reset, and re program and set me on my way. 4 days later check engine light came on (1559 miles on truck), took it back in. They did a reset and told me there’s no know fix for this and reset the code, day later (today) light is back on. Should I consider this a Lemon? Also does the truck let you know when it’s doing a regen? Because if it does. I don’t think mine has done one.

I was addressing that very subject with the service manage yesterday. My truck has 7400 miles on it and the regen indicator has only been on twice and that was at 1450 miles and 1890 miles. It hasn't come on since then and the gauge has been on the 1/2 way mark for the past 2,000 miles. What's up with that?
There is no indicator up other than fuel mileage unless you have the dealer enable DPF%Soot in the IDS. You can monitor it going up in 5% increments to 100% and then down same way to 0.
My suggestion on these trucks throwing this code to be able to better monitor, and drive longer to get to 0% when it is regen ing. I suspect your regen is not completing properly, which is why so frequent.
Pulling my trailer just after last oil change and IDS work, I was able to watch two full regens, 500 Km between, each one took about 40 km. First on at highway speeds, towing, second one, was on way home and into town, half at highway and half towing into town at slower speeds with stops and starts, but never shut down until in the driveway and then it was done.
I will monitor an empty drive regen, as I am curious how long it takes and in what conditions, i.e. City driving and will it get all the way to 0% DPF.
I set my gauges custom so I can toggle to DPF % easily when driving.
This sounds like a EGT sensor issue to the OPs, please let us know how it's going. I have been through most of one winter, about to go into the second so I am curious to see how it runs in the colder weather. I am at 17,500 Km.
10k miles, I regen every 425 miles. Just lift off the throttle at highway speed. If your boost guage rises a little and you feel higher than normal deceleration, you're in return.
A couple of seconds on the floor once or twice after 5 mins of regen seems to hurry it up a lot.
OP, part of the problem could be the drive that you have daily. The truck may not be able to get the soot levels down enough, and its trying to do so the next time you drive. Remember, these trucks have to be driven a ways to be good and warm before they will start the regen.
I had the DPF screen enabled at my dealership this past week. I was on a 2 hr. trip yesterday and wouldn't you know it, the thing got to 100% 15 miles before I got there. The regen only got me down to 50%, and after the two hour/110 mile ride home from the hospital it was at 55%.
Getting the DPF screen enabled will help you understand what's happening with the truck a little better.
Personally, if things don't get any better, I'd be filing paperwork for a Lemon Law claim. You should look up the law for your State. It varies a little bit one State to another.
Good luck with your issue.
