My driver's side wiper arm for my 1982 E350 Motorhome is broken and bandaged with a cable tie. I've been searching everywhere including eBay for a replacement. The factory part number is E1UZ-17526-A and according to my parts lists, this number fits E350's from 12/80 through 5/84. From 5/84 on through 88, the part number is E4UZ-17526-A. The description of both says "includes (1) nozzle and (1) shield, black". The only parts I have been able to find are the E4UZ-17526-A. Can anyone tell me if the later unit will fit and/or what is the difference between the two? Thanks for any help...
Thought I'd add one other piece of info from the parts lists. The pivot arm post that the wiper arm connects to has part number D5UZ-17567 for the left and D5UZ-17566 for the right, and is common for all E150/350 from 1980-88 (limit of my Parts Manual). Consequently, the pre and post 5/84 wiper arms must have the same diameter shaft and retaining mechanism. Further, the Parts Manual lists three different wiper blades - one for 8/80-83, one for 84-87 and one for 87-88. All wiper blade part numbers end in 17528-B (81/83) or 17528-A (84/88). The Bosch Spectrum DirectFit Factory Replacement wiper blade part number is C1806 for all E350's from 1981-88, which is an 18" long bracket mount. So the blade mount end for the pre and post 5/84 wiper arms is the Ford bayonet/bracket mount and is identical for both. So again, I'm confused about the difference!
Sometimes the part number difference might indicate a small change such as in the washer nozzle or color.. Black or stainless steel..
Also according to a glass company, 75-91 used the same windshield.. maybe some tinting differences..
You said that the pivot arm post are the same...
Just for referance,, I have a 88 e150, i looked at the 82 E350 wiper motor and the 88 E150 wiper motor and they are the same motor..
RA lists the same wiper blades for both model and years.
So my guess is that almost any arm would fit. the trick being finding one that matches your right side arm..
You may have already seen these, though not the exact part number, here are some to look at
Annaleigh, I had not looked carefully at the listing for the 75-80 stainless arms when I saw it before on eBay, but now it appears identical to the 84-on set. I think the difference must come down to a nozzle difference or length. I'm going to risk a purchase of the NOS ones you noted an see how it goes. I'll post any differences I can find. This whole query began because all the parts references I can find only list the 84 on version (E4UZ) and say there is no fit for the 81-84 vans. Hopefully, resolution awaits! Maybe, Ford improved the part (!).
I also look at seller feedback before buying parts. Non of the sellers I have posted are 100%. Also check the return policy and send the guys a message to see what they would do if it doesn’t fit..
Here are a couple more links that would save a little money...
"And yes I see what you are saying,, The 1981 to 1983 seems to be missing...
If you happen to run across a wiper arm washer nozzle, I need one but I haven't searched very hard yet... Mine still works fine but is distorted a little. The only way I have seen one is to buy the whole arm... Maybe time to check the local salvage yard and see what other parts i might need to acquire for spares!
