Couldn't be happier...

'16 Platinum 450 triple black

We bought this truck because we needed something that could handle our farm duties and pull an 11,000 lb (when empty) horse trailer. Ideally wanted a 350 dually but the dealer wanted to get rid of this truck bad. So we bought it. And after 1000 miles, I hated it. The ride empty was horrible with the 19.5 tires. So, I had custom rear leaf springs made, and installed air bags. Big difference and now no droop (3,000 lbs on the pin), but not right yet empty. So I experimented with tire pressures and am now down to 60 psi for the past 1500 miles with no problems and the ride is actually very good on crappy roads and concrete expansion joints.

Next, I recently installed a 4" down-tube back exhaust with a resonator and 30" muffler. Of course I installed a tune (tow tune) and block off kit.

Now I have truck I thoroughly enjoy driving and pulling our trailer. The economy isn't much better but the power is impressive in terms if throttle response, and the torque seems to be nearly right off idle. I also like the idea the exhaust is nearly (nearly I said) as quiet as stock. My wife says its an 8 out 10 compared to stock and at anything over 35 mph, you can't tell the difference from stock in the cabin. Passing on the interstate is effortless, not that it was bad before. It's just that now is really quick. Not to mention, no more DEF warnings!

Anyway, our third powerstroke since 1995 and couldn't be happier.

Look into sulastic shackles for your rear springs. Supposed to do a great job at removing the harshness out of the rear.

I bought the SCT tuner and tunes from Alligator Performance. It comes with 4 tunes, but I only use the tow. Can't tell you anything about the others. In fact, can't even tell you who's tunes are installed. Give them a call and speak to Tim - after 5 minutes of speaking to him, you can tell he knows these trucks.

As for the exhaust, I spoke directly to Flo Pro and asked about their quietest combo. They were spot on.

Yep! I'm as jealous as I thought I would be. Good looking truck. I miss my 08 450. Really thought about one when I bought this truck, but I can't say I need the dually. Great truck and I have no doubt you will enjoy.

Nice looking truck... JS139 - Maybe next time you and I will get F450s.... I've sorta been debating on a dually and if I do get one, I want that wide track front end.
