Transfer case installation

Hey guys I'm putting a transfer case back into my truck since the PO dropped the old one and put in a 2wd set up. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions but to start; Does anyone know what hardware to use when bolting the transfer case mounts to the frame? Haynes manual doesn't specify, lmc and the like don't have any "kits" for it. See attached picture. I'd hate to assume just some regular nut and bolt does the job and then it fail on me. Thanks and stick around cz I've never put a transfer case back into a truck before so there will be more questions (but hopefully not issues)

How about pics of the transfer case, especially the top where it mounts, and where it bolts to the frame or cross member.

I've got the 4 studs (1 pictured to hold bracket in place for pic) that mount the transfer case to the mounting bracket, just need to buy some new bushings for them.

Back in the day, I worked with a pipeline outfit in ND. We had a mid 70s crewcab with divorced transfer case. The problem we had was every week or two we had to tighten the bolts going to the frame because they kept working loose. whatever we tried didn't seem to work. Loctite was not that readily available and lock washers were not working. Maybe Loctite with locknuts on studs would work better. Thought you would like to know so to put in a fix ahead of time.

My thinking is just to use grade 8 bolt and hardware but wanted to make sure that was strong enough and/or the proper way to attach the TC

Not sure on proper way. Grade 8 bolts and lock nuts should work just fine being its an thru frame installation. Just check them regularly for working loose especially in the beginning.
Use grade 8 lock nuts also. Just saying.

Yes, grade 8. When in doubt, a good rule of thumb is to use the largest grade 8 bolt that will fit in a given hole. Automotive standard is grade 5, though you will see some grade 8 in critical components. Anything above grade 8 is relatively recent, and is typically relegated to the racing industry. Back when your truck was built, they probably would have used grade 5 for that application. Upgrade to grade 8 and you can't go wrong.

Also rich do you have those pieces for me to buy by chance? Lol

Well I would imagine it is longer on a divorced case? Maybe someone with a divorced xfer case can post a pic?

I can get you the 7B051 part, but if that is for a married xfer case it will do you no good unless you can cut/weld and make it longer?
