2014 3.5 Misfires & Fouled Plugs

Have a 2014 King Ranch 4x4, 3.5, with about 98K miles on it. Manufacturing date of 2/13/14. Here are my issues:

1. MPG has always been poor (15-16) and dealer never could identify causes after multiple attempts.

2. Orignal issue was misfires and blinking check engine light when hard acceleration (such as passing at high speed). Took it in, found a cracked coil and replaced all plugs. This particular issue seemed resolved.

3. Now 2 months after those new plugs, frequent misfires and sputtering on idle and while driving at any speed. Check engine light came on with the following codes: p0012 p0014 p0022 p054a. Before I could get it in the shop, the check engine light cleared, but came back.

4. The 2-month old plugs are fouled, and mechanic is replacing them, but can't figure out what's causing the issue.

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Thanks,

Michael

Update

Ford dealer said they think this is related to TSB 16-0027. Unfortunately out of warranty (98K miles), and they quoted $2600 for repair. I have called Ford and opened a case for review, hoping they'll do something under their customer satisfaction program. Keeping my fingers crossed... long-term Ford customer.

Keeping fingers crossed for you as well. Despite what the PR materials state, turbo engines (especially high boost such as this series) are "high" and "expensive" maintenance engines....and you're not the only on one.

The soot on the plugs, engine and misfire, that concerns me from the aspect that if the cam timing is failing/that far off to cause that, IMHO there is a good chance that internal damage is increasing substantially in probability since high boosted engines don't like mis-fires and it tends to burn holes in pistons and push rods out the pan or through the side of the block.
