Just use your map on your cell phone. When plugged it it comes up on your dash. Then you not paying $150 every two years to update something that does not work as good.

That works great as long as I have cell coverage. Traveling all over and have lost it before.... I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S but haven't quite mastered the maps on there..... I need to do that I guess....

Use Google maps and download your areas that you lose cell reception in.

You can add navigation for about $800-$1000, but I don't know why you would. The stock navigation blows.

If you already have Sync 3 you can upgrade by changing the module. This is the best deal I have found.

BHPR...Just wanted to let you know that I ordered a Sync 3 NAV Upgrade Module from the link I gave you above. I installed it and it works perfectly. They linked it to my VIN for me. Ordered on Thursday and received on Monday. Good luck.

The stock Nav really isn't that good. I'd look elsewhere. It's really frustrating when you're travelling, unless you know the exact address.

I'm driving up I25 and just want to know how far it is to Laramie. The voice commands can't handle that (it wants an exact address); the passenger isn't allowed to type it in either.

The best choice is to put your finger on the map, move it around near to the city you want, and press start nav. Hardly safer than voice command. Sheesh.

The install is very easy, 15 to 20 minutes. There are several YouTube videos that document the install process. This is one of them.

Have you tried connecting an iPhone or Android and using Nav from that?

Especially if you already have a phone, I'd try that first. If you don't like it, then go ahead with the factory stuff.

Just my opinion.

That sounds tempting to me, as I have a Lariat w/o nav, but my wife said I'd run up some costly data and roaming charges if I kept the google maps screen up. She's never wrong, so I didn't argue.

Gotcha. I think I have an unlimited plan - plus I don't think it works when there's no cell service. Just trying to help out!
