1973 f100 wiring diagrams?
Hi guys,
I'm currently reworking my stock wiring harness because over the years other owners have really done a number to it. But I can't find the wiring diagrams anywhere for a 73. Any idea where I could get them? Everything is online, you'd think this was too?

Probably not a huge difference (you could get by with the '74 most likely) but the Hayne's shop manual does list the '73 separately.
Doubt it's in the newer, and more available Blue-cover version, but in my old Brown-cover (Hayne's #788) version of the "'73 thru '79 Pickup and Bronco" book, there is a '73 set.
If needed, you could probably find them at Helm, or even Craigslist.
Good luck.

Should be close save for points vs dura. and other small ****. I rewired my truck recently to stock but i designed my own harness for the engine bay so if you want that diagram too gimme a holler.

1973 is NOT the always same as a 74 as far as colors. A chunk of wire and a ohmmeter will help with this a bunch. At some point you just have to figure out what color does what? Keep those notes for later.
Wish I knew why 73 got ignored. Perhaps there were more than one change during that year.

Online is great of course, but I still like a book in my hand to trace things out. Even if I need a magnifying glass due to small or light printing, it's right there with me under the hood in all it's greasy-paged glory.
If you can't find the specific ones, or if the '74 doesn't work for you, I still say a Hayne's book is good for anyone to have as a reference.
Like I said though, get the Brown one with the wiring diagrams. The current Blue one is semi-useless as they've gotten rid of anything I ever look for in our shop copy. So I go back to my Brown one.
Or Chilton's too, when working on the Bronco.
Between the two of them, I can almost find everything I need.
Almost...
