Neat/weird early options?
Is there a thread about the unusual options on the dentside trucks?
After seeing a couple of tire carriers from that era, I'm curious as to what other neat options were available.

I like the steps that came out when you opened the door. Not like the ones on modern trucks, the dent ones came out with linkage to the door I believe.
The 1977 Ranger XLT "Luxury" package was cool & rare too.

AFAIK, there was no such thing, this was an aftermarket accessory available from aftermarket bumper suppliers & RV dealers.
The accessory steps mentioned in post #3 bolted to the bottom of the doors and the outer frame rails, swung out when the doors were opened.
The problem was, the steps were mounted too far forward, a PITA to use for anyone that was at least 6' tall.
The other problem, there were no A pillar grab handles available back then like they are today.

There is a thread somewhere on the rarest options. The one I recall was a factory defrost rear window.
