If it says Boxlink on your window sticker, you should have gotten 4 of them with 2 keys with your truck. Mine were still in the shrink wrapping under the back seat.
The new redesign is more intuitive. Lazy sales folks weren't offering to show folks how to use them and in a rush customers opted out of the offer when it came up. I never had to file any of them though! I guess it would make taking em in and out easier. FWIW I reversed my hand on them and put the meet on the cleat and used my fingers to pull up on the locking tab and that always worked pretty darn well. New design is nice though.
Mine are still in the box. I use e-track accessories in the "holes".
The Ford people hit it out of the park on these. Extremely versatile tie down points. I have a 2 x 6 in wood beam brackets in the rear of my bed to keep stiff from sliding forward under my bed cover.
In the front I leave e-track rope tie offs since I have a cross box. The tie offs are still accessible even with the cross box in place.
2 of the 4 went in easily. 1 took a bit of "persuasion" and the 4th required the removal of the backing plate entirely as no amount of force would seat it with the backer plate bolted to the bed side......so you're not the lone ranger.

I have an Aug built (job 2) truck and I had to file one of them down. Most likely an issue with the 1 cavity that part came out from. Did not want to go in - so like others, I filed it down so it slipped in.
I had to wiggle them quite a bit. It seemed like each one had their own place on the mounts. I would try one then another one until it went in and moved on to the next one until all were installed.
Mine came already installed, I suspect the dealer may have put them in but Not sure. Anyway it was built aug14 so I'm sure it's a job2 so you can compare them with yours
The newer cleat design is not a job two thing.
My job 2 truck was built in march, and it came with the old style. They must have used up the inventory of the old ones, then started shipping new ones at some point.
Mine were in a cardboard box in the back seat when the truck was delivered. There is not really any issue with the old design, they work just fine. I use them all the time.
Does anyone even ever take these out? Love them, and I get why they lock (even though its just another key), but wondering how many actually remove them, and use any other accessories? And if so, what are they? Wondering if I'm missing something!!?
