Unfortunately I lost 3 of the 4 bolts of my water pump pulley and the remaining bolt destroyed the pulley.
I bought a new OEM pulley which is supposed to fit my 1996 F350 7.3 PSD but when I tried installing it it would grind on the water pump housing.
I compared the depth of both pulleys and the new one is thicker.
Both parts have different numbers stamped in (old one says 1822853C1 and new part has 1830962C1). When I enter both numbers I get the same Ford part number as a result.
Can someone tell me what my new part is for and which part I would need to order instead??
The one on the left almost looks like one for a 7-rib belt, like from a '94.5 or early '95. AFAIK there were no other changes wrt. the belt drive. Was your engine swapped, perhaps?
I bought it on ebay, I already started the return process. Unfortunately there is no shop anywhere around me that has this part so I have to order it online.
I tried my luck with another source, it confirmed the fitment for my MY and model so my hope is high.
Ford replaced the old pulley (F5TZ-8509-A) with a new part F7TZ-8509-AA. Obviously this part does not fit my truck any more and I can't find a source for the old part, so I'm stuck here.
My only chance will be calling all the junkyards around and see if they have the part.
I checked my E99 and it's an 8 rib, however there is a lot of space on each side of the belt to the pulley inside edges on the water pump pulley. Maybe 3 mm each side or more. If you still have the new pulley and can measure outside to outside I can do the same and compare numbers.

Finally I received the right part, truck is back running (I missed the diesel smell so much!!!)
For comparison here are the measurements of the width of the pulley (belt running surface):
- old pulley (F5TZ-8509-A): 30mm
- new pulley (F7TZ-8509-AA): 36mm
