My '97 F150 4.6 V8 just desided today that it wanted to cutout on me while my RPMs were up. As long as they don't get above 2,500 it seems to be fine. I was going up hill and it started to do this today then the check engine light came on flashed a few times then went soild. What on earth could make it do this all of the sudden? Could it be an O2 sensor, plugged fuel cleaned, fuel pump? It acts like it's not getting gas then it does then it doesn't again. Could someone help me so I don't have to pay an arm and leg to find out that something just needs to be cleaned? (Cleaned air filter already).

Like Jimmy said, get it scanned for trouble codes.
When the Check Engine light came on it generated a trouble code that should be stored in the truck's PCM. That should lead you in the right direction to fix it.
As for something to clean, about the only thing you can clean would be the MAF sensor. There are instructions to do that in the FAQ's near the top of the forum.
Have you replaced the fuel filter recently?
