Hello all new to this board and just wanted to say hello and ask a question to see if someone else has had this problem...
I have a 1998 F-150 xlt wondering if someone might know this problem..
I have an engine light on and the Idle is really fluxuating now.. almost to the point of dying out..(dies out occasionally) Anyone know which sensor that might be??
Also i have a problem with my lights off and on i know i must have a wire crossed somewhere but there are times i close my door and the lights stay on inside the truck and on that backwindow at the top...
If they are on when i first start the truck and i start driving out the complex after a few seconds i will hear a click and the lights will go off inside LOL It seems to me after i got this place to install a stereo about a year ago that this had started... It's not an everyday thing but it happens off and on...
Just wondering if anyone on here has had some of the problems that i've had... would appreciate some advice if you have...
Hey John and welcome.
I just had one of those problems about a week ago. The idle control was sticking. It is easy to change, just two bolts on it and the plug. It is silver, and mounted on the top of the throttle body. Sometimes this will set a code, sometimes not. You might be able to clean the idle control solinoid, but i would recomend a new one. As for your lights, it could be the door jamb switch sticking. You might try cleaning the door lock, the black locking part on the door, real well with some WD-40, and working it a few times. Dont put grease back in the door lock. Write back let us know how it goes.
Thank you for the very warm welcome and i will look at these problems and see if this is whats causing me soo much damn havoc and no i'm not related to Buddy hehe
