Morning Pat. I dealt with a different storm - barely got two feet out of the truck before I had the rebar shop manager and the production manager all over me about problems. Weather's great though...lol.

Good morning PA Peoples...and...wandering truck fans. Soggy start to the day here...maybe boomers later. Bill...hope you got the issue resolved without too much hassle!!!

Morning Ken! Yeah, Matt, the apprentice that's been doing the scheduling (and isn't able to apply, since he's not a senior tech) says he actually likes it, and would cover it while teaching me how to do it. I'll have to do all of it eventually, most of those guys won't survive here past next April.

Had to repair a misfire on my wife's car this weekend. I didn't think it would be very hard until I realized that cylinder #2 on her Mercury Montego is on the back side of the engine. What ignorant little ***** at Ford thought it would be a good idea to bury the coils and plugs underneath the intake manifold, but right on top of the catalytic converter? A 3.0 Duratec in a Ford 500/Mercury Montego may be a sturdy engine but it is a pain in the %*& to work on! For your viewing pleasure, almost everything you see in this picture has to come off just so you can then fight with the cat and the firewall to get the coil and plug out. If you're lucky you don't break the EGR tube in the process. It's hidden, just waiting to cause problems to the unwary mechanic.
In case anyone is wondering, yes I did turn in my man card already and had her take it to our mechanic today after work!

Morning Neil.
Yeah, the new stuff is definitely all crammed in there. I don't mind doing my own stuff for the most part, but it takes some gymnastics to get to some things at times - not easy for a big guy like me, but I get it done. The diesel is the only one I have with decent room under the hood.

and I am bigger than you Bill. On the '10 I can actually see the entire front of the motor and there is room because it has electric fans vs. the old water pump mounted fan. The only problem is being able to reach anything unless you are standing on something to boost you up in the air....lol.
