The PA Chapter's "Dog Days" August 2017 Chat and B/S Thread
So I'm slow on the uptake and didn't realize Father Time ripped another month off the calendar last night. Anyhow, it's August, it's Carlisle Week, it's getting late in the year. At least the weather's cooperating.
Truck Nationals in Carlisle goes down this weekend. There's no group gathering there, but there are always a lot of great rides to check out as well as vendors if you're interested.
I think that's all I've got as preamble. Ya'll know what to do, so do it.

lol Pat - I'm just trying to get on your level, that's all...
Morning Ken. Game plan is at the moment to take both - haul the show toy out on a trailer behind the diesel, which will just sit on the non-judged field with the OBS Addicts group (friends of mine) since we don't do a gathering as FTE anymore.

Ken - the game plan is to use the company's 24' deck-over like I did a couple years ago. It was offered to me.
Pat - I do miss the FTE gatherings, but understand why they don't happen either. It was a lot of work to pull it together and it ended up falling to a select handful of folks. I also think things changed when a few of us got deeper into doing the showfield thing - less time to dedicate to a group event. I suck at planning stuff like that, so it's not happening under my watch again lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it return and we did try with another format when "things" happened that put me in this position, but it'll be a challenge. Yeah, Scott and Kathy still do it - she has the Excursion she shows and all that. Some of the others pop up too, but it's hit and miss.

Yeah, that would be a haul. Steve Bricks drove in from Cali a few times, made a big couple weeks' vacation out of it and toured the country if I remember right. He flew in a time or two as well. It's a lot of driving though - at least 2 days from Omaha for sure.

Bill, two days make it a comfortable drive. My wife has family that is in the east, central part of Iowa and they are about 4 hours from Pat. It takes us about 15 hours to drive out so we split it up over two days making I think Toledo, Ohio as the mid point.
