Symptoms: transmission feels like the torque converter is not unlocking in forward gears. Shift pattern appears to be correct. Once it's warmed up, putting the van in drive causes the engine to stall. Rpm normal in p, r, and n, no obvious lockup in reverse, no stalling.
Fluid looks normal.
Trying to figure out what I need to do next to diagnose/repair, if you gents will help.
Will attempt to get some good video later. The ones I taped were shaky and had horrible audio :/
Thanks in advance!

The first thing to do is to get the codes read. The places that read codes free CANNOT read the transmission codes that you need. Take it to a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.
Thanks, Mark. Forgot to put that in the original post.
A friend (professional mechanic) had hooked it to his Autel Maxisys, no trans codes. found a throttle body code (we don't recall what one), and he cleaned the throttle body. Since he was working, he didn't have time to do a proper diagnostic, and I want to avoid burning friend points when possible.
