I went to put a tester on my 94 Ranger and the Schrader valve on the truck is smaller than the one on the tester. I went to two parts houses figuring there was a reducer you just put between them and they both stared at me like I was nuts. So I was hoping someone could give me a part number or something to get me in the right direction....Thanks
That IS strange, the valve should look just like a tire valve. What happens if you push on it? You should get a strong stream of gas so be careful not to get it in your eyes. If all else fails check with a Ford dealer.
Which engine do you have?
4.0 engine and it does look just like a tire valve it is just smaller than my fuel pressure gauge so I thought maybe there was an adapter. I know about the pressure I was just gonna check with gauge for accurate reading.
I was going to look at the adapters that came with my gauge to see if it has one for your mini schrader valve, but i can't find the gauge. I'll look again tomorrow.
The Oct 2010 Item 92699 Harbor Freight fuel pressure gauge hose fit my 94 Taurus fuel pressure Schrader valve ok.
Had to wrap the hose to gauge & extension hose coupling fitting threads with a couple turns of PTFE tape, so they wouldn't weep fuel under pressure. Be careful doing so, such that any residual tape debris doesn't get into & clog the hose fitting orifice. This Item 92699 $19.99 gauge Didn't have a pressure relief valve. The more expensive model did have a bleed valve, but if all you want to do is bleed off gauge pressure after a test, just disable the fuel pump & crank the engine. My gauge came in a cardboard box & styrofoam, not in the nicer blow molded case like they have now. I've only used a fuel pressure gauge once, so it has been a $20 test for me!!!! lol
