That’s for sure. My other truck is a ‘13 F350 drw, all blacked out with a few custom touches and it doesn’t get near the attention as the f500. It sure turns heads

Well, the roads are froze enough that I snuck over to the shop. It’s 2 miles from my door to the shop door so not too much exposure. I decided today was as good a day as any to get going on the bumper

This I how I started. The spare tire carrier is in the way so that has to come off

Carrier removed

These are the plate brackets I made. I have to knock if the rear point and cut It for the bumper tube

Mocked up. I’ll use the old river holes from the spare carrier and open them up to 1/2”. I also added a 3rd bolt hole to each side.

Needs blasted and finished. I feel like it’s missing something that I can’t put my finger on...

Laser cut or something "Ford", into the bumper.

Maybe stencil the fancy Old Ford F600 logo on it and a message to would be totaled cars if they test its strength 😜

I had one car nose up to my rear axle and peel the hood and intake back to the windshield. No damage to my truck thank goodness!

So I painted the bumper and installed it. I have a 2” receiver for it but I’m not sure if I’ll ever use it. Since I have the heated shop to myself, I figured I should tear into it and put a new thermostat in, and change the oil. Turned into; Maybe I’ll try and convert to a pcv like I’ve been wanting too...

Got her all out back together. Runs very well. I deleted the road draft tube and added a pcv. New gaskets and thermostat. I put in rotella t5 15-45 oil and some zinc additive. Took it out for a 25 mile trip today; which is the farthest it’s been taken out at one time in over 25 years.

That must have been a fun trip. Does your face hurt from smiling that that long? That engine looks sweet all buttoned up.

It was a nice cruise. Too bad I was on a time clock and couldn’t bar hop the way home
