I have a 2015 6.7 I know from what people say the cold side intercooler tube is an issue with the plastic and known to blow off I'm looking for recommendations hopefully something not a house payment so I don't see them being that expensive and would you recommend replacing both sides in the kit if so what have you purchased and known that is a good deal ?
Did you do a search? There is a current multi-posts thread about the tube on here abut the hot side and talks about the cold side. It has recommended replacements and the troubles they had installing their.
One tube is metal on my truck. The one that doesn't give any problems.
Just ordered Rudy's from Amazon. 2016 F350 6.7 with 11000 miles. I know it would be under warranty, but I don't want to get stuck on the road. For less then $200, its worth the peace of mind.
I guess my main reason for questioning I want to find out brands that people have used and are happy with also if people are changing their hot side as well as the cold or just the cold I know they're issues with the cold part and there are kids out there for the hot and cold like this company has anybody heard of them and are they reputable? Otherwise I may go with Rudy's just because of cost right now I would assume anything better than the factory plastic
This is probably a new one to most of us. The hot side pipe has never been a problem and the only reason to replace it is to have matching pipes. AFE is the only kit we've heard that leaks. Wrong sized clamps has been a problem for a couple of folks with the Rudy's kit, but that is easy to fix at the NAPA store.
Yep, that one is a new one to me too. I will look into this one as my partner and her husband just bought a very low mile '12 and are wanting to make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to them.
I found the same troubles with Rudy's kit. Two of the clamps were the wrong size. You can get them to work but it takes longer. Having the right sized clamps makes this install a breeze.
