2011 F350 and Warranty
I have never posted before but have a very important question. My family and own a 2011 F350 with 96,000 miles believe the built date was November 2010 and we have never had any problems with it. Here is my big question for everyone. I currently have extended warranty up to 100,000 and can purchase some more before hitting 100,000 below is the options that I have.
Premier Care that covers everything with us paying $100
1/12 $1750
2/24/2005
3/36 2725
Powertrain only
1/12 1055
2/24 1220
3/36 1450
4/48 1720
Last do nothing
I have read many of the posts you all always give great advise which option would you go with and why. Thanks

4yr/48kmi is what that one means?
I had ext warr on mine when I bought it used but only because the original owner bought it and I paid 100$ to xfer it. I'm not one to buy them myself but it's a balance between risk tolerance and pocketbook. Early 11 build have possible issues. I figure if I keep mine that it has a 30-40% chance of dropping a valve but I won't buy a warr to cover that. I might trade it in though as that's a better risk/reward value to me.

If it's an aftermarket ext warr then you need to read the very fine print and do every single maintenance item at the right time to keep it active. If you make a large claim they'll do everything they can to get out of it. I had one on a GMC Safari and I had to find every receipt and record to get a trans repair covered.

We have read here about non-powertrain parts going south after 100,000 and would think long and hard about the full warranty. My dealer is good and I don't know of a high quality non-dealer local option if something else breaks. My dealer charges a good amount to look at and fix trucks outside of warranty. Ford ESP is nice. I carry 8 year/125,000 ESP on my beast.
All that said, power-train would be correct for many for 4 years too. Others are perfectly fine with no insurance and odds are on their side.

My comment is thatbtyere is probably much better trade value on a 2011 now than there will be in 3 or 4vyears when it is a 9 or 10 year old truck with how many miles. Generally financing for new buyers us very tough on a rig older than 8 model years. You are at that limit.
