Fantastic. Thank you for the help. Looking to find out anything about the motor, etc. in this truck. It is completely original and don't want to change it.
Welcome to FTE. Nice job posting a picture on your first post.
Your truck could either have a 226 cubic in flathead inline six cylinder engine or a 239 cubic inch flathead V8 engine. Likewise for a transmission it could have a column shift light duty three speed, a floor shift light duty three speed, a floor shift heavy duty three speed, or a floor shift four speed "crash box" (called so since it has no synchronizers). Post pictures of the engine and transmission shifter and we can narrow down what you have.
By far the best first purchase you can make is a reprint of the factory shop manual. This is available from many vendors, on that auction site, or on that big vendor who used to only sell books. Google search here: https://www.google.com/search?client...utf-8&oe=utf-8
I will definitely do that. I am told it will still run. It was given to me by my faimly to be used at my studio. I plan on working on it some, but the look will stay the same. As soon as it is here I will photograph thew engine and post further photos.
Thank you for the identification and info on the motor possibilities. I will be buying the manual you mentioned.
Take lots of pictures before, during and after any work you do. Five minutes after you remove a bolt, you will forget where it goes. Also, share those pictures with us. We love pictures.
Looking to try and identify the Year Model of this truck.
Year Model? Would like to know.
Thanks in advance!
CJ
A lot of guesswork going on here. There is no way to determine the actual year from a picture. Post the serial number and then we can discuss what year it is.

Technically this is true. The serial number can be found stamped into the top of the driver's side frame rail between the cab and the radiator. Typically it is found near the steering box.
The 1950 identification is accurate assuming all the sheet metal is original to the truck.

Reason: change VIN to serial number
Thanks for the input, I do think the sheet metal is original and there is nothing modified. My Cousin is looking for the VIN / Serial number and will supply me that when he gets it. If he doesn't have time before delivery, I will definitely report back once I locate it,.
Would you guys have an suggestions as to some of the things I should do, once I get the truck? I am doing no body work. It is to be used as a prop at a large Photography Studio. I am told it will turn over. I am pretty handy and can do just about anything I need, and have a 30 year master mechanic (Little brother) that can help if I need. just looking for some input from some of you guys that have taken on a project of this nature.
Change the oil, antifreeze, drain the gas and put fresh in it. If possible see if gas tank has junk in it and clean it out. Check the hoses and belts. Check wiring so it doesn't catch on fire. Have fun (the most important).
As stated above, first check the oil in the engine, transmission, and rear axle. Lube all the grease fittings. Replace the fittings that won't take grease. Flush the cooling system. Probably bypass the stock gas tank and get the engine to run from a can of gas.
As soon as it runs and is obviously not going to be expensive to get it driving, stop. Fix the brakes.
