I'm putting together ... or at least attempting to put together ... a 2001 B3000 2WD which has taken a light hit on the left front. I put in airbags and controller and now I have an airbag diagnostic code flashing ... I think it's 17 or ... or maybe 71. Does anyone(who is willing to share) have the code list for this truck?
Does anyone have a recommendation as to a source of a manual or manuals that will describe the SRS system. I looked out on Helm and didn't see anything that I thought would help me.
So far, I'm still trying to determine what type of belt pretensioner this truck has. If it's a pyrotechnic type... then I feel certain it has been deployed... and I need to replace it.
I've found some information (for 2003 models however) that indicates that the tensioner, air bag modules, and electronic control module need to be serial no. matched.
Make sure that the position of the crash sensor bracket is correct and properly grounded, since that is how the sensor itself is grounded. And check the wiring and all your other grounds...faulty grounds are the cause of many airbag codes.
